TIWA SAVAGE WINS MTV BEST AFRICAN ACT AWARD

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has become the first Nigerian female artiste to win the MTV Europe Music Awards in the Best African Act category. The Afro-pop singer snatched the record-breaking award at the 2018 MTV EMAs held on Sunday at the Bilbao Exhibition Center, Bilbao, Spain which had several music stars across the world in attendance.

The African act category, in 2005, was infused into the MTV EMA to enhance musical alliances across borders and promote cultural integrations. Until Tiwa’s win, three Nigerians have won the award including 2Baba in 2005, D’banj in 2007 and 2012; and Davido in 2017.

In 2018, Tiwa was nominated alongside fellow Nigerian act, David Adeleke, aka Davido; South Africa’s Distruction Boyz and Shekinah; Kenya’s Nyashinski and Fally Ipupa from the DRC.

Congratulations to Tiwa. The sky is just a starting point for you!

MICHAEL JACKSON'S POPULAR "BAD" JACKET FOR SALE

 Michael Jackson ’s black “Bad” jacket that the singer wore on his first solo tour is going up for auction in November and could fetch up to one hundred thousand dollars. Julien’s Auctions said that the jacket, which Jackson signed on the back with a silver permanent marker, was worn throughout the singer’s “Bad” world concert tour from 1987-89.

The jacket, with multiple zippers, straps and buckles, is one of the late singer’s most iconic costume pieces alongside his red and black leather “Thriller” music video jacket that sold for $1.8 million at auction in 2011.

Michael Jackson has become one of the most collectible celebrities since his sudden death in 2009 in Los Angeles at age 50 from an accidental overdose of an anesthetic he was using as a sleep aid.

BOBO AJUDUA WEDS NAOMI GIWA IN LAGOS

Bobo Ajudua, the only son of the convicted millionaire Fred Ajudua wedded Naomi Oluwaseyi Giwa in an elaborate and flamboyant traditional ceremony in Lagos. Bobo Ajudua is Davido's lawyer and as expected Davido and his N30 billion band graced the occasion with other top personalities including Professor Pat Utomi of the Lagos Business School.
