MARTHA ORHIERE SAYS THERE IS NO SERIOUS COMPETITION IN NOLLYWOOD

The pretty and ‎versatile Nollywood actress, Martha Ehinome Orhiere has said that there is no serious competition in the movie industry in Nigeria despite the alarming number of new actresses gracing the screens yearly. She however acknowledges the fact that time and season happens to everything. Hear her "time and place happen to everything. It just doesn’t come at the same time for everybody. But if you know your stuff and you know what you want, with time, no one will be able to hide a lamp under the bed. Everyone’s light will still shine whether now or in two years. TONI-ANN SINGH CROWNED MISS WORLD 2019

Jamaican psychology student Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World 2019 on Saturday December 14, 2019 at a ceremony in London. The very excited Miss World 2019 had this to say “To that little girl in St. Thomas, Jamaica, and all the girls around the world, please believe in yourself, and know that you are worthy and capable of achieving your dreams. This crown is not mine, but yours. You have a purpose.” Toni-Ann Singh was crowned by last year’s winner, Mexican Vanessa Ponce de Leon. Singh is the fourth Jamaican to win the title. France’s Ophely Mezino and India’s Suman Rao were the runners-up in this year’s edition of the highly revered beauty pageant.

ZOZIBINI TUNZI WINS MISS UNIVERSE 2019

Miss South Africa,  Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss Universe on December 9, 2019 after excelling through rounds of swimsuit and evening gown struts, questions on social issues and one final chance to explain why she was the right choice.  "I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me — with my kind of skin and my kind of hair — was never considered to be beautiful," she said in her last response. "I think it is time that that stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face and I want them to see their faces reflected in mine." The two runners-up for the crown were Miss Mexico and Miss Puerto Rico. "If you do not use your beauty for your life's mission, it's just an empty ornament," Sofía Aragón, representing Mexico, said earlier in the competition. Madison Anderson represented Puerto Rico. "Being on the Miss Universe stage is not just a dream" Anderson said. "I believe that I found my mission. It's a representation of dedication, resilience and perseverance. I do believe my mission is to show the world that magic happens when we refuse to give up because the universe always listens to a stubborn heart." And if you're wondering, yes, there was another mix-up and Steve Harvey was involved in it. But it was nothing like the 2015 disaster when he called out the wrong winner. Harvey hosted the pageant for the fifth time sporting a bedazzled green and gold suit jacket. He was commenting on a costume from earlier in week and said Miss Philippines won the National Costume Contest. He was right, but the woman who came out on stage said she was Miss Malaysia. "Y'all got to quit doing this to me," he said.

ELVINA IBRU DESIRES TO MEET THE ARMED ROBBER THAT RAPED HER

Nollywood thespian, Elvina Ibru has expressed her desire to meet with the robber who raped her in the year 2004 in an incident she says was not her fault. Elvina Ibru who played the role of Mopelola in the blockbuster movie, “Bling Lagosians” expressed the desire to see her violator once again and urged rape victims to speak out, having experienced the ugly incident, noting that there was a need for others to take a cue from what she had been through which made her set up an advocacy group. 

She said the group will manage the young and old ones who had been through the same ugly incident like her. "I know if I had to go all out to media about the situation, it will fizzle out. However, it is not something I have been silent about; I don’t know the person that raped me, but I will meet him again, I know I will meet him.” She narrated.

Nollywood actress, singer and skin care therapist, Chineye Esther Anakulu Nze aka Chesan Nze, doesn’t hide her feelings. She says it as it is. She defined love as an affection towards something or somebody that makes or drives one to sacrifice anything just to have that thing or be with that person‎. She confessed that she has been heartbroken because she is beautiful and most men would never believe your true intention for them when they see you are beautiful, they feel you are out to use or play them. "Not everyone is a player; I do not pretend to love anyone. I am so real with my intentions" she quipped.‎ Chesan said she overcame heartbreak by refocusing her attention by beginning to hang out with friends and family, cooking more, shopping more, gym sessions, drinking more wine and dancing every time. Then the bomb shell! "‎I love my solitude. I cuddle at least 10 pillows to cope on lonely cold nights. I’m not a fan of sex toys either, and ‎I can stay three to four years without sex".‎

The Most Beautiful Girl in Niger‎ia in 2019 is Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas, a ‎21-year-old Nigerian model based in the United States of America. Douglas, who represented Rivers State as Miss Rivers, emerged the winner of the 32nd edition of the beauty pageant. The new queen apart from receiving a gift of a brand new car will also be representing Nigeria at the Miss World 2019 pageantry scheduled to hold at the ExCel London in the United Kingdom, on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
